NaNoWriMo in Christchurch & NZ Elsewhere

NaNoWriMo is an annual event where writers from every corner of the world dedicate themselves to their writing. For 2023, there are a mixture of in-person and online events. You DO NOT need to be a registered participant of NaNoWriMo to join in on the writer fun!

Judy L Mohr is the 2023 Municipal Liaisons (ML) for New Zealand Elsewhere and the Christchurch, NZ region. However, she works alongside Emmy-Lou James and JJ Wallis in running events for our region.

Willing to Host In-Person Write-Ins?

New Zealand might be a small country, but we are larger than many people think. As such, Judy (your ML) needs help to host in-person write-ins throughout the country.

If you are willing to host an in-person write-in during November, please reach out to Judy L Mohr directly. Not only will she help you advertise your event to the region, but she also has some host goodies lined up for those hosting in-person events.

Please be advised that all in-person events must be held in public venues, ideally wheelchair accessible. Coffee shops and local libraries are wonderful locations.

Stickers

Every year, NaNoWriMo issues stickers and other goodies for participants, distributed by the MLs for the various regions. Judy (your ML) and other volunteers will have a collection of stickers to hand out at in-person events, but if you are unable to make it to in-person events, then you can still get a copy of this year's sticker.
